NESCO PLC Overview
Under the framework of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh’s visionary plan for 2021, with the objectives of “Electricity for All” and “Electricity for Every Household,” a significant responsibility was entrusted. To ensure accountability and enhanced services in the areas of generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity, the government, starting from October 1, 2016, transferred all assets and responsibilities from the Bangladesh Power Development Board to Northern Electricity Supply Company Limited (NESCO).
Under the current legal framework, NESCO is the ultimate governing body for comprehensive management. It operates under the guidance of the Management Committee appointed by the government. According to the directives of the Management Committee, NESCO’s day-to-day operations are managed by an executive team, led by the Managing Director and a group of capable executive officials.
