Ministry of Religious Affairs Job Circular
After Bangladesh gained independence, religious affairs were initially administered under the Ministry of Education. Subsequently, they came under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Religion. However, the need for a dedicated religious affairs ministry was recognized, leading to the establishment of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on January 25, 1980.
This ministry underwent several name changes, reflecting its evolving responsibilities and focus. It was initially named the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowment on March 8, 1984. Then, on January 14, 1985, it adopted its current name, the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
MORA’s Mandate
Since its inception as an independent ministry in 1980, MORA has been entrusted with overseeing and managing all aspects of religious affairs within the government. It collaborates with offices and organizations under its purview, such as the Islamic Foundation, Office of the Waqf Administrator, Haj Office Dhaka, Haj Office Jeddah/Makkah, Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust, Christian Religious Welfare Trust, and various other branches.
The Ministry’s Objective
MORA’s primary objective is to enhance religious affairs within the nation. It strives to contribute to national development through the development of human resources and the promotion of brotherhood, values, and religious beliefs on both a national and international level.
